Volunteering
The chapter is held together by volunteers. The work is real, it is visible, it earns PDUs — and it is the fastest way to learn the profession from the inside.
Why people do it
- +PDUs in the Giving Back category
- +Experience that stands up on a CV and to questioning
- +People you only meet once you are on the inside of the work
- +Practice at something your day job has not handed you yet
The kinds of work
Events
Planning and running events: speakers, venue, schedule, how the day flows.
The conference
The biggest commitment of the year — programme, speakers, sponsors, logistics.
Content and communications
Writing posts, running social channels, event write-ups, photography.
Partnerships
Talking to companies — sponsorship, venues, collaborations, guest talks.
Mentoring and community
Connecting people starting out with people who have done it; exam study groups.
Site and tooling
Maintaining this site, the calendar feed and getting content in.
These are the kinds of work the chapter has. For which roles are open right now, ask us.
How to apply
Open roles are posted by PMI on its Volunteer Engagement Platform. Applications go there — PMI runs the machinery, we run the work.
