Chapter membership runs through PMI. One sign-up, two memberships: the international organisation and the local community.
What you get
A local community
People doing the same job, in the same country, under the same constraints. That is the part international membership alone does not give you.
PDUs from the conference
The annual conference carries PDUs towards keeping a certification current. What a PDU is and how to claim one is explained on the PDU page.
Standards and knowledge
Access to PMI standards, including the PMBOK® Guide, and to the organisation’s digital library.
Cheaper exams
Members pay less for certification exams. On the PMP, the difference covers a good part of the membership fee.
Volunteering that shows
Running an event, working in a team, editing content — experience that reads well on a CV and earns PDUs.
Career
Contact with people who hire project managers, and with companies that back the profession.
What it costs
Membership is paid at pmi.org and comes in two parts: an annual PMI fee and a chapter fee. PMI sets those prices and changes them, so they are read there rather than repeated here.

Common questions
Do I need a certification to join?
No. Membership is open to anyone working on projects or wanting to — certification is a separate thing entirely.
Do I have to be a member to attend an event?
Not for every event. Some are open to everyone; at others members pay less or get priority when places are limited.
Can my employer pay for it?
Yes. Payment happens at pmi.org and you get a receipt to hand to accounting.
What if I am already a PMI member?
Then you are only missing the chapter. It is added to your existing pmi.org profile — no second sign-up.
Where do I pay?
Only at pmi.org. This site takes no payments and asks for no card details — that is a deliberate decision.
